Kyphoplasty/Vertebral Augmentation

Radiologic Associates of Middletown RAM Radiology has board-certified interventional radiologists to perform your kyphoplasty/vertebroplasty.RAM Interventional Radiology procedures are performed at Middlesex Health.

Kyphoplasty and vertebroplasty are minimally invasive procedures that treat vertebral compression fractures in the spine commonly caused by osteoporosis. Kyphoplasty uses a balloon that is inserted into the fractured bone creating space. Then a cement mix (kyphoplasty) is injected into the balloon. 

Vertebroplasty uses a hollow needle to inject a cement mix (vertebroplasty) into the fractured bone.
