COVID-19 (Coronavirus) Related Notice

To our patients:

The health and safety of our patients and staff is of utmost importance. In light of recent events taking place globally and locally regarding COVID-19 (Coronavirus), our team would like to advise everyone on basic precautions that should be taken in addition to those set forth by the CDC. RAM Radiology will remain open for business with added sanitization protocol to our already high standards of safety.

We ask all of you for your compliance in keeping everyone healthy and safe. If you have any of the following symptoms, please call before your appointment:

  • Fever
  • Runny nose
  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath
  • Flu-like symptoms
  • Have travelled outside the country
  • Have been exposed to anyone with Covid-19

Additionally, if your children are home due to a quarantined school closing or a sickness, please do not bring them with you to your appointment.

Michael Crain. M.D. attended Oberlin College where he received his Bachelor’s Degree, Summa Cum Laude. He then spent a year as a Research Assistant in the Neuroscience Department of Children’s Hospital Medical Center at Harvard University. He earned his M.D. degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine, and did his internship at the Jersey Shore Medical Center. Dr. Crain completed his residency at the George Washington University Medical Center in Washington, D.C. He did his fellowship on Cross-Sectional Imaging at the George Washington University Medical Center.

Dr. Crain is Board Certified from the American Board of Radiology. He is a member of the American College of Radiology and The Radiological Society of North America. He serves as President and Chief Executive Officer of RAM Radiology and is the Chairman of the Radiology Department at Middlesex Health.  Dr. Crain is an officer for the Radiological Society of Connecticut and a Councilor for the American College of Radiology.  He is on the Board of Directors for Medical Professional Services, a local IPA in Connecticut and is an Advisor for Dicom Director, a local company working to enhance the access of radiology exams.  Dr. Crain is also the Chief Medical Officer of Pondera Pharmaceuticals, Inc., which is a privately owned, socially responsible pharmaceutical development company.  Dr. Crain is also the Executive Director of The Patient Is U (TPIU), a 501(c)(3) non-profit foundation to promote compassionate care in Connecticut. 

He and his wife live in Essex and their 2 children work in the fields of medicine and business.
