Cryoablation

Radiologic Associates of Middletown RAM Radiology has board certified interventional radiologists to perform all your ablation needs. RAM Interventional Radiology procedures are performed at Middlesex Health.

Cryoablation is a process that uses extreme cold to destroy tissue. Cryoablation is performed using hollow needles (cryoprobes) through which cooled, thermally conductive, fluids are circulated.  Cryoablation uses a cryoprobe, liquid nitrogen and/or argon gas to make an intense cold that destroys diseased tissue. It destroys cancer cells as well and can be used to treat skin conditions.

Cryotherapy, also called cryosurgery, cryoablation, percutaneous cryotherapy or targeted cryoablation therapy, is a minimally invasive treatment that uses extreme cold to freeze and destroy diseased tissue, including cancer cells

Contact your doctor to see if a cryoablation procedure is appropriate for you.

To schedule a consultation, please call RAM Radiology at 860-346-8481.

Individual patient consultations are held at our MVAC office, 57 South Main Street in Middletown, CT.
