Radiologic Associates of Middletown RAM Radiology has board-certified interventional radiologists to perform your intracranial vascular treatment. RAM Interventional Radiology procedures are performed at Middlesex Health.
Intracranial vascular treatments are minimally invasive procedures that, depending on the patient's condition, involve image-guided internal catheter navigation of the body's blood vessels to treat vascular conditions affecting the intracranial vessels.
Intracranial stenosis is a narrowing of an artery inside the brain. A buildup of plaque (atherosclerosis) inside the artery wall reduces blood flow to the brain. Atherosclerosis that is severe enough to cause symptoms carries a high risk of stroke and can lead to brain damage and death. Treatments aim to reduce the risk of stroke by controlling or removing plaque buildup and by preventing blood clots.
Intracranial vascular treatments are used to improve or block blood flow in the arteries of the brain. Technique of the procedure can vary depending on the patient’s condition.
Contact your doctor to see if an Intracranial Vascular Treatment procedure is appropriate for you.
